Please don’t underestimate the thin film coating on the outside of the pill; it does many things. It is an advanced coating technology that uses various polymer materials to form a stable coating. There are many kinds of materials for making film coatings, such as stomach-soluble type (hydroxypropyl methy lcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, etc.), enteric-soluble type (shellac, cellulose acetate phthalate, etc.) and water-insoluble type (ethyl cellulose, etc.). Widely used in Chinese and Western tablets, pills, granules, capsules and drug powder. Through different coating designs, film coating with various functions can be made to change the position and speed of drug release to achieve better treatment of diseases, including gastric soluble film, enteric soluble film, oral soluble film, sustained release film, controlled release film and multilayer film.
